Student ID-card

On the HMT Campus portal – once you have logged in with your HMT username – you will find it as a quick link on the home page.

📸 Update your photo

To ensure you can be clearly identified, you should update your photo regularly:

HMT Campus → Student Services → ‘Pictures’ tab → upload a new photo.

To use a practice room at the HMT, please show your ID card at the receprion desks (Grassistraße 8 for the buildings at Grassistraße 1, Grassistraße 8 and Beethovenstraße 29 and the desk in Dittrichring 21. To ensure your request is processed quickly, please make sure that:

• your photo is up to date and suitable for identification
• your student ID card has been re-scanned on the machine (so that the current date is displayed)
• you adhere to the maximum usage time of 2 hours
• you return the key immediately after use

⚠️ Some degree programmes are excluded from using the practice rooms. This is noted on your student ID card.

Also required: a printout of your certificate of enrolment

The reception desk staff is also requiring a printout of your current certificate of enrolment. Please have this to hand when you come to collect a key.

You can find your certificate of enrolment to print out at any time in HMT Campus

Your digital student ID card will only be displayed once you have completed your enrolment or re-registration for the semester.

If this is not the case, a message will be displayed. In this instance, please check the following yourself before contacting the Student's secretariat:

1) Semester fee block

Check »HMT Campus« → Payments to see whether all fees have been paid in full. Often, fees from previous semesters or late payment charges are outstanding.

2) Health insurance block

Check »HMT Campus« --> messages

Is your electronic health insurance registration missing? Contact your health insurance provider so that they can send us the registration.

Are you in arrears with your health insurance payments? – Settle any outstanding contributions.

As soon as the notification is received (approx. 24 hours), your student ID card will be activated.

3) Block: Contact the Student's secretariat (especially for first-year students)

First, check for yourself »HMT Campus«  → messages to ensure that all documents have been uploaded in full.

Check for lockings: Please submit any missing documents as soon as possible – at the latest by the time you re-register for the next semester.

Important: Unresolved re-registration lockings will result in de-registration.

If you wish, you can still obtain a paper ID card – for a fee.  Please contact the Student's secretariat for further details.

• Discounts: Your student card will only entitle you to student discounts if you have uploaded a clearly recognisable photo and you access the card when it is valid.
• Studentenwerk-Logo:  Does your student card not feature the Studentenwerk logo? If so, you must not pay your semester fee via the HMT and cannot use the Studentenwerk’s mensas or other services with your HMT card (e.g. part-time students, special class for talented youngsters programme).
