Once you have obtained your Abitur, you are basically "fit to study" and can no longer be accepted into Special class for talented youngsters.
You should apply regularly for the undergraduate degree programme and take the corresponding entrance examination.
However, according to the Staatsvertrag über die Hochschulzulassung article 8 Auswahlverfahren, paragraph (3) https://www.revosax.sachsen.de/vorschrift/18333#x11 there could be reasons that prevent you from starting a regular degree programme in the semester immediately following.
In this case, admission to a later semester would be granted. In the meantime, you can be admitted to the Special class for talented youngsters if possible.
In principle, the result of an entrance examination is valid for admission to the directly following semester.
In the event that, in accordance with the Staatsvertrag über die Hochschulzulassung article 8 Auswahlverfahren, paragraph (3) https://www.revosax.sachsen.de/vorschrift/18333#x11
you provide reasons that prevent you from starting a regular degree programme in the semester immediately following, admission may be granted for a later semester.
A failed entrance examination can be repeated once in the same degree programme and major subject (2 attempts). In the Drama degree programme, you can repeat the aptitude test twice (3 attempts). Please note that an examination will be assessed as "failed" if you are absent without excuse.
The "Open Day" takes place in the second week of January.
The programme will be published on our website in due course.
One-off € 50.00 per semester of application for all degree programmes.
Applications for primary school didactics in music (minor elective subject) and for the elective minor subject are free of charge.
You will find the bank details on your printed application form.
The phoniatric certificate is an enrolment requirement for - all degree programmes in the field of
- Classical Voice/Musical Theatre
- all degree programmes with Jazz Voice as a major subject
- intensive master's degree programme in Drama

Applicants for all degree programmes with singing or jazz singing as a major subject as well as the intensive master's degree programme in drama should bring the certificate with them to the entrance examination. Applicants for the teacher training programmes only present the assessment report during enrolment.
A phoniatric assessment can only be carried out by a specialist in speech, voice and childhood hearing disorders (phoniatrist and paediatric audiologist) or a specialist in ENT medicine with an additional qualification in "voice and speech disorders".
The costs of such an assessment are generally not covered by health insurance companies.
Appointments with a phoniatrist are usually booked months in advance. So please make sure you book in good time.
- Complete ENT endoscopy: The examining doctor checks whether the larynx, in particular the vocal folds, are free of organic changes and inflammation.
- Videolaryngostroboscopy:With the help of this examination, the vibration behaviour of the vocal folds can be precisely assessed.
- Vocal status:Criteria for voice status include vocal tone, vocalisation, speaking pitch, vocal strength, vocal use, vocal range, swelling capacity and tone retention time. The voice status provides information on whether functional abnormalities occur that may impair the performance of the voice despite normal organ findings. The voice profile, which is usually also created, also provides information about the performance of the voice.
- Audiometry: This examines whether the hearing ability fulfils the requirements of a speaking or singing profession. If necessary, additional phoniatric examinations are carried out for precise clarification.
Please note that the partial examinations and their results can be read from the report.
