During their studies, students of the HMT Leipzig Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy get the opportunity to study abroad at a partner university with the ERASMUS+ programme for one or two semesters. Credits achieved abroad are credited.

Who can apply for ERASMUS+?

Students of every field of study can apply for a scholarship. Apart from being enrolled at the HMT at the time of your stay abroad, you need to be in the third semester of studying at least.

Are there special requirements?

To apply for ERASMUS+ you have to comply with the following requirements:
  • at least one year of study completed, regular enrolment at a German university
  • duration: one or two semesters (Bachelor/Master/PhD) a further grant is possible
  • host university: needs to be partner of the HMT and / or have an ERASMUS-Charter (ECHE)
  • Switzerland offers an own mobility programme from winter term 2014/15 onwards (Swiss European Mobility Programme)

What kind of support will I get?

  • exemption from both the host and home institutions' tuition fees
  • a monthly grant will be paid
  • Achieved ECPS will be accepted in most cases.
ERASMUS+ grants for the academic year 2018/2019:
  • Group 1 (Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Norway, Sweden, United Kingdom): 420 Euro
  • Group 2 (Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, France, Germany,  Greece, Italy, Malta, the Netherlands,Portugal, Spain): 360 Euro
  • Group 3 (Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Croatia, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Turkey): 300 Euro
Erasmus+ interns will receive an additional grant of 100 Euro, hence 520 Euro in Group 1, 460 Euro in Group 2 and 400 Euro in Group 3

Please consider that ERASMUS+ programmes are only supporting grants for your stay. They often cannot cover the entire expenses of a study stay abroad.
Think about the financing of your stay prior to your application. In most European cities average costs of living are higher than in Leipzig.
