Thank you for being interested in studying at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Leipzig within the ERASMUS+ - programme.
 
Here, you will find information and documents concerning the application. If you are applying as a freemover or your university does not have a partnership contract with HMT Leipzig, please submit the application through the international office of your home institution. 
 

Who can apply for ERASMUS+?

In general, every student who is still studying at one of our partner institutions can apply for a one or two semester exchange at the HMT Leipzig.
 

Language skills

Students:

English: Exchange students are not required to submit proof of their proficiency in English. Partner institutions are expected to select students who meet the requirements. Minimum recommended level B1.                                                                 

German: Basic knowledge of the German language (A1) is recommended. Singers should have at least level B1. Enrolments in theoretical courses are not recommended with a language level below B2.

 

Students and staff with disabilities

The HMT Leipzig provides infrastructure for welcoming students and staff with disabilities.

How to apply?

Deadline for the application is the 8th of March 2024 (for the following winter and summer semester).
 
Interested students must send their application via mobility online. https://mobility.aec-music.eu/LoginServlet
Please complete your registration at the website and follow the instructions.

Please fill out the Study Plan carefully by choosing courses only from the Erasmus course catalogue (see next subpage) and for your specific study programme. 
 
Students will be asked to provide the following additional documents:
  • Curriculum Vitae (English or German)
  • Transcript of Records (from the previous Study Year) If you are a first year Master student, you may hand in your Bachelor certificate, diploma or equivalent documentation
  • Learning Agreement
  • According to the main subject, applicants have to submit artistic works:
Orchestra instruments, early music, organ, piano, jazz and singers
Audio recording of pieces of different styles (about 20 min)
Choir and orchestra conducting
Video recording  of a performance or rehearsal
Composition
Two or three scores of own works and their recordings (if available)
Dramaturgy
Portfolio
 
IMPORTANT: Please upload your recordings on a platform/cloud of your choice - in the highest quality possible - and sent us an access link that will be valid for at least 30 days.
